Clinical Services: Comprehensive Eye Examinations
A comprehensive eye examination at Rainbow Optics focuses on three key areas:
*Refraction - testing to determine your prescription and discussion of options such as glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery
*Eye efficiency - testing of aiming and focusing of the eyes, and possible treatments for deficiencies
*Eye health - assessment of the outer and inner structures of the eye, and possible treatments for issues that are identified
Refraction
When we are not seeing as clearly as possible, nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia may be to blame. The process called refraction is used by your Doctor to determine the prescription for your glasses and contact lenses. Our Doctors perform their own refractions, blending their experience with the art and science necessary to determine the best prescription for you.
Eye efficiency
Our eyes must properly aim together and focus in order to function efficiently. Problems with eye aiming or focusing can result in reduced speed and comprehension for reading tasks and can hinder sports performance. The Doctors at Rainbow Optics routinely test for eye inefficiencies and will discuss various treatment options when indicated.
Eye Health
Our doctors are trained to diagnose diseases of the eye such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and complications from diabetes and are able to render treatment for many conditions. Our doctors also co-manage treatment with our local surgical colleagues for refractive surgery such as Lasik, cataract surgery, and other specialized care. You will receive a thorough assessment of the health of your eyes at Rainbow Optics including a dilated retinal examination. |
